ATLANTA, GA: As a record number of Georgians cast their ballots in the final days of the primary election, Sarah Riggs Amico, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement:
“As Georgia voters go to cast their ballots in these unprecedented times, we continue to urge those with absentee ballots to deliver them to the designated, secure drop off boxes, which is the safest and easiest way to make sure those votes are counted.
As we approach Primary Day, Secretary of State Raffensperger must provide counties and poll workers the resources they need to ensure a safe and successful election for everyone who chooses to vote in person on Tuesday.
There was no excuse for the Secretary of State’s Office to be unprepared for the high turnout we saw today, and there will be no excuse come Election Day.
Our team will do everything we can to ensure every eligible voter has their ballot cast and counted, all the way through Election Day.
I am encouraged and proud of Georgia Democrats for turning out in record numbers, and hope they continue to do so through Election Day on Tuesday. Having our voices heard at the ballot box has never been more important.
Anyone who has questions on voting or encounters difficulties should immediately contact the Georgia Voter Protection Hotline at 1-888-730-5816.”
